Dr G Brown Retirement Message

Unfortunately last year I was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer and related heart disease resulting in extensive heart and abdominal surgery. Since then I had planned to return to work part time, however I have recently decided to retire completely. As I have been away for such a long time I have not had time to say goodbye to the friends I have made at the surgery.

Despite all this I am doing very well and have a good prognosis!

The decision to retire was not an easy one to make as I usually (but not always!) enjoyed working and it was a pleasure and privilege to be a General Practitioner at Polesworth and Dordon Surgeries. I have many good memories but none more so than time at the start of the Covid Pandemic when we all pulled together and provided one of the most successful vaccination programmes in the NHS.
