Repeat Prescriptions

At this busy time of year remember to order any repeat prescriptions at least one week in advance if you know you are going to need your medication over the Christmas period.

You can order using the on-line website, patient access, drop request in the repeat box in reception, post (remember to include stamped self-addressed envelope if you wish it to be posted back) or by fax.

Use our 24 hour on-line service called EMIS ACCESS. You can use it to book appointments, order prescriptions and update your personal details. If you would like to take advantage of this system, please call in to our reception at Dordon bringing some ID with you i.e. passport or utility bill.  You will then be issued with a Registration letter which will give you an Access Code and a PIN number which will enable you to set up an account on-line. It’s obviously very important that only genuine patients are registered so this Registration letter can only be obtained IN PERSON at Reception.  Each member of your family will have a separate PIN and you will need to set up an individual account for each person.

Patient Participation Groups

Do you want to help shape future services, comment on existing ones and be a friend of the practice? Then you may be interested in joining a patient participation group.

If you are interested leave your details with the Receptionist and she will pass them on to the Chair who will contact you.

Feel free to attend the Patient Participation Groups Annual General Meeting at Dordon surgery on Tuesday 17th January 2017 at 6:30pm, everyone is welcome.

Contacting The Out of Hours Service

There is now only one number you need to know – NHS 111.

Calls to NHS 111 are free from landlines and mobiles.

When you ring 111 the call will be answered by a team of fully trained call advisers, who will ask questions to assess the symptoms and give appropriate healthcare advice or direct you to the local service that can help you best.  Depending on the reason for calling and when the call is made this may be:

Telephone advice from NHS 111          Community Nurses           Midwife

GP Out of Hours service                     Pharmacy                         A&E

Midwife                                             999

Appointment Reminders by Text

Our appointment system is now sending automatic text reminders to remind you of an appointment the following day.  If would like to use this service please fill out the slip available at reception. In order to keep in contact we do need your up-to-date mobile number.
