Openreach/BT Industrial Action 29th July & 1st August

Posted on:

BT and Openreach announced strike action expecting to take place on Friday 29th July and Monday 1st August.

BT and Openreach have assured that if industrial action takes place, they will do everything they can to reduce interruptions to service by implementing tested continuity plans and processes used during the pandemic.

The Convergence Group team are taking proactive measures to evaluate and minimise disruption to their customers and partners, their understanding from BT is as follows:

Not all engineers are impacted by strike action

The most senior engineers have been allocated to fault resolution during this period

A prioritisation system will be introduced, similar to the process used during the first COVID lockdown

There is a specific continuity plan for “blue light” emergency service customers

BT installs that are scheduled for these dates are expected to be delivered

With this in mind we may have issues at the Practice on these dates with telephones and computer systems.
